Plan & Plate is a meal-planning app for Australian households. We collect only what the app needs to work, we never sell your data, and we run no advertising trackers.
You sign in with Sign in with Apple, Google, or an email address and password. Our authentication provider (Supabase) stores your email address, the sign-in method you used, and a user ID. We do not receive your Apple or Google password.
So your plan follows you between devices, your app data is synced to your own row in our database: your weekly meal plans, saved and custom recipes, household and fussy-eater profiles, dietary preferences and allergen settings, goals, grocery list, and your weight, water and energy logs. Only your signed-in account can read that row.
Until you sign in, everything above lives only on your device. Signing out stops syncing. Deleting the app removes the local copy.
If you grant permission, the app reads your bodyweight and active/resting energy from Apple Health to chart your progress. That data is used on your device only and is never sent to our servers or shared.
The "scan your fridge" and product-scan features send the photo you choose to our server, which forwards it to Google's Gemini API to identify ingredients or a product. The image is processed in the moment to return those names and is not stored by us afterwards.
When you import a meal from a link, we send that link and any caption text to Google's Gemini API to estimate the recipe and its macros, and we generate a dish image for it. When the caption could be read, we keep the link and the recipe we worked out from it, with nothing that identifies you (no account, name, email or IP address), so our team can review it and add it to the recipe library every user sees. Recipes you type in yourself stay private to your account.
If you share a meal to the community, the display name you choose, the recipe, your notes, your star rating, an optional photo and any video link are stored on our server and shown to other users. Comments you write are shown with your display name. Your account id is kept with your posts so you can delete them and so we can act on abuse; it is never shown to other users. Photos are checked automatically for unsafe content before they appear. You can delete any post or comment of yours in the app, and deleting your account removes all of them. If you report or block someone, we store that so the content stays hidden for you and our team can review it.
Plan & Plate Pro is billed by Apple or Google, not by us. We never see your card details. The store tells the app whether your subscription is active so we can unlock Pro features.
In the app, open the Me tab and tap Delete account. That erases everything synced to your account, including any community posts, straight away, and your sign-in record within 30 days. You can also stop all syncing at any time by signing out in the Me tab and deleting the app.
Traffic is encrypted in transit, and access to your synced row is restricted to your signed-in account.
Plan & Plate is not directed at children under 13.
