Plan & Plate is a meal-planning app. We collect as little as possible and we never sell your data. There are no user accounts and no advertising trackers.
Your meal plans, saved and custom recipes, goals, grocery list, and your weight, water and energy logs are stored locally on your device. They are not uploaded to us.
If you grant permission, the app reads your bodyweight and active/resting energy from Apple Health to chart your progress. This data is used only on your device and is never sent to our servers or shared.
The "scan your fridge" feature sends the photo you choose to our server, which forwards it to Google's Gemini API to detect ingredients. The image is processed in the moment to return ingredient names and is not stored by us afterwards.
When you import a meal from a link, we send that link (and any caption text) to Google's Gemini API to estimate a recipe and its macros. We do not store the source link after processing.
If you share a meal to the community feed, the name you enter, the recipe name, your notes, an optional photo, and any video link are stored on our server and shown to other users. Don't post anything you wouldn't want public. To remove a post, contact us.
Plan & Plate is not directed at children under 13.
